Barry Canton is a co-founder of Ginkgo Bioworks, a Boston biotechnology company founded in 2008, where he is responsible for overall foundry technology strategy and direction. He holds a PhD in biological engineering from MIT, where his thesis focused on the refinement of standard biological parts.
